What can you do with ESDL?
ESDL is a language that allows computer models and tools to exchange information. This makes it possible to work with multiple calculation models on energy transition related issues.
ESDL MapEditor

The ESDL MapEditor is a map-based web application that makes it possible to click an energy system together on the map with the mouse. You combine information about energy, space, time and finances to sketch an integral picture. There are now quite a few simulation environments and models that can be linked to the MapEditor, with different goals. Calculating heating networks, gaining insight into system integration issues, network impact studies.
ESSIM – Energy System Simulator

One of these models that can be linked to the MapEditor is ESSIM, the Energy System Simulator. ESSIM offers the possibility to calculate energy flows (time series), in which storage and conversion between energy carriers are central. Gain insight into the role of hydrogen? Or what can you achieve by installing (hybrid) heat pumps in your regional energy system?
Install ESDL MapEditor and ESSIM yourself?
