ESDL MapEditor

The ESDL MapEditor is an open source map-based web application that allows you to draw and define energy system scenarios in the ESDL language and then have various calculation models calculate these scenarios.

The first version of the ESDL MapEditor was developed in 2019 as a frontend for the Energy System Simulator (ESSIM). In the meantime, it has grown into the central place to define energy system scenarios and, in addition to ESSIM, many other calculation models can be linked (MESIDO, AURORA, Pandapower, ...). There are also all kinds of extensions that can be linked that facilitate working in the MapEditor (such as the ESDL Validator, the geo ESDL service, the pipe duplicator, ...). Finally, the MapEditor is also used to graphically display results from models for spatial analyses (such as for the I-ELGAS model).
